PLAK (Parents Learning Alongside Kids)
This year I have piloted a new programme designed for adult learners around speech and language milestones using simple strategies and techniques.Parents learn the strategies, practice them with their own children then come into a junior classroom and work with groups of children.Some amazing things have happened for the parents and children at Owhata School, Rotorua. Intergenerational literacy at work. |
