What is a speech language therapist?

A person who works with students and adults who have difficulties with speech (articulation) language, voice or stuttering.

How does language affect literacy development?

Oral language and its acquisition is the basis for later literacy development. Many children who find it hard to learn to talk may also experience reading and literacy difficulties.

How does a Speech Language Therapist or Specialist help?

By assessing what a student or adult CAN do then carefully planning and implementing programmes and assistance to take them to the next steps.
